Description
This is a commemorative coin from American Mint honoring Abraham Lincoln and the Battle of Antietam, dated October 3, 1862. The coin is silver plated copper with a proof finish and measures 40 mm in diameter, weighing 32 grams. It features a detailed portrait of Abraham Lincoln on one side with the inscription “ABRAHAM LINCOLN LIFE AND LEGACY 1809-1865” and the reverse side depicts Lincoln at Antietam with a quote from the Gettysburg Address.
The coin comes with a Certificate of Authenticity numbered 00845. The Battle of Antietam was a significant and bloody day in American history, and this coin commemorates Lincoln’s visit to the battlefield and his Emancipation Proclamation announcement.
